Lengthening with a growing nail
Traditional lower limb bone lengthening surgery involves a major intrusion into the patient's body and a great deal of discomfort accompanying the entire therapy process. Magnetic field leg lengthening is an extremely effective, yet relatively patient-friendly way to perform lower limb lengthening (tibial lengthening and femoral lengthening, respectively). Magnetic field limb lengthening is a modern treatment method characterized by a very high therapeutic potential, which is why it is an increasingly popular alternative to traditional leg lengthening methods.

As of January 1, 2022, a new ICD-11 classification of diseases will be in effect, according to which the spectrum will include disorders distinguished until recently as infantile autism, atypical autism, Asperger's syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder and holistic developmental disorder [2]. The common denominator of all these disorders is problems occurring in three areas of development: communication, social skills and interests. The word "spectrum" implies that, despite the above-mentioned commonalities, the skill level of people with ASD can be extremely different. It ranges from severe disorders to above-average abilities [1].

Emotions accompany us from the first moments of life. Nevertheless, for a long time they were underestimated and relegated to the sidelines. Now, however, the subject of emotions is increasingly emerging from the shadows and arousing the interest not only of researchers, but also of the public.

ABC by Paley - DIAGNOSIS
The moment when parents find out what is happening to their child sometimes falls on them like a bolt from the blue - unexpectedly and causing great havoc. Other times, the diagnosis takes place after many months or years of consecutive visits to specialists and searching for answers. Then, in addition to fear or anger, the information obtained may be accompanied by relief. Because we already know what to do next, we are already a step ahead.

Positive Thinking Day - how to develop them in children?
Scientific studies show that optimists are 5 to 10% less likely to suffer from heart disease, stroke, depression, and cancer because they tend to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle than pessimistic people. That is why it is worth developing a positive attitude toward oneself and the world in children from an early age.

ABC by Paley - PATIENCE
Waiting is not the best thing in life. Mundane situations such as standing in a traffic jam, waiting in a long queue, or the more important ones - waiting for an operation, physiotherapy, tedious training are things that we usually cannot speed up and we only have to be patient. Does that mean passively waiting and surrendering to what life brings? Nothing could be more wrong.

Waiting is not one of the easiest, let alone the most pleasant things in life. Mundane situations like standing in traffic or waiting in a long line, or the more important ones - waiting for surgery, physiotherapy or arduous workouts - are things we usually can't speed up, and all we have to do is be patient. Does this mean passively waiting and surrendering to what life brings? Nothing could be further from the truth.
ABC by Paley - Grandmother and Grandfather
Grandma and grandpa - these two words make the heart fill with pleasant warmth, and the memories return to images of holidays together, carefree play in the garden, or reading bedtime stories. Apart from parents, grandparents are often the most important people in children's lives. And, although it is worth showing care and love every day, it is in January that we celebrate Grandma's Day and Grandfather's Day, and thus we have the opportunity to celebrate in a special way that grandparents are or were present in our lives.

ABC by Paley - HELPLESS
Joining the family of a sick child is associated with an intense wave of various emotions. Anger, fear, and resentment are intertwined with feelings of injustice and loneliness. This often comes with blaming yourself for your child's illness or critical voices you hear from other people. Lack of information, emotional support, and conflicting information received from specialists can lead to a feeling of confusion and helplessness.
Palejovo ABCs - SAFETY
When a sick child joins the family, it involves an intense wave of diverse emotions. Anger, fear and embitterment are intertwined with feelings of injustice and loneliness. Often this is compounded by blaming oneself for the child's illness or the critical voices that can be heard from other people. Lack of information and emotional support, as well as conflicting messages and opinions received from different specialists, can lead to feelings of confusion in the new situation and helplessness.
ABC by Paley - ENGAGE
Sometimes it happens that parents want to help and support their child so much that, guided by good intentions, they deprive the child of the possibility of independent action. In situations in which the child could cope by himself or with a little help, the parents help the child, wanting to spare him the effort or experience of failure. It also happens that in the rush of daily duties, caregivers do not allow the child to become too involved in household chores or other self-service activities, because adults will do it better or faster. In the short term, this strategy works, but looking at it in the long term we harm the child more than we help him. It takes time to get into practice and learn to do something right - whether it's dressing, cooking, or building spaceships.
ABC by Paley - ANIMATORS
A stay in a hospital is not one of the easiest experiences in the life of a child and its parents. Fortunately, there are people who can make this challenging time pleasant and at least a little easier. They're the animators. It's the most advantageous when they're an integral part of the child care team. Here, at the Paley European Institute, that's exactly how it is! :)
ABC by Paley - ACCEPTANCE

We wish you pleasant reading and we start with the first slogan in our ABC by Paley.
Palejowe ABC - ANGAZE
Sometimes it happens that parents are so eager to help and support the child that, with good intentions, they deprive the child of the opportunity to act independently. In situations in which he would manage alone or with a little help, parents often bail him out, wanting to spare him the effort or experience of failure. It also happens that in the busyness of daily chores, caregivers do not allow the child to get too involved in household chores or other self-service activities, because adults will do it better or faster.

In addition to art activities, animations and magic tricks and fun brain-stimulating exercises, gifts awaited our patients and their siblings. Cheerful music stimulated the audience and invited them to join in the activities. An additional attraction for all visitors to our Institute was the opportunity to take a souvenir photo.
