Bilateral radial hemimelia at Paley European Institute - a case study
Last year at PEI, we performed a simultaneous procedure for bilateral wrist and hand reconstruction known as "ulnarization." We are very happy with Martin's result and wish him lots of smiles every day.
Rehabilitation for radial hemimelia
Rehabilitation was aimed at teaching the boy to use his hands not only for activities of daily living, but also for play. The boy learned how to grasp both large and small objects, how to support himself with his hands, and how to fall safely. With the skills he has acquired, Martin can easily play with his peers on the playground and continue his healthy development.
