How do we treat limb axis disorders?

It leads to gait abnormalities, static and dynamic deformities of the whole body, and, in adults, early degenerative changes in the knee joints.

Method of treating limb axis disorders in children

A well-established method of treating limb alignment disorders and limb irregularities in children and adolescents during the growth period is the Guided Growth method. This is the temporary blocking of growth cartilage in the appropriate place to achieve correction of the limb axis.

At Paley European Institute, using our unique technique, we implant a "figure-eight" plate without making a full large incision. We make only two incisions of several millimeters, which saves soft tissues and reduces the risk of adhesions and scarring. As a result, we can achieve correction of axial deformities, and avoid aggravation of deformities without the need for future osteotomies. At the same time, the child can continue to lead normal life activities and play sports.
