Dr. Dror Paley among honorary citizens of Poland

Dr. Dror Paley - world-class pediatric orthopedist

Dr. Dr. Paley is one of the world's most prominent specialists on musculoskeletal defects. He is the author of more than 130 publications and textbooks on limb reconstruction. He and his team perform 1,500 procedures a year, thus joining the world's leading surgeons dealing with complex orthopedic problems.

A new dimension in pediatric orthopedics

Dr. Paley, after establishing a headquarters facility in Florida, began initiating the establishment of satellite centers in other parts of the world as well. And so not only was the Paley European Institute established in Warsaw, but also outposts in the Arab Emirates and Colombia.

Dr. Paley has been involved in pediatric orthopedics for years, focusing on treating some of the most difficult conditions, such as radial and femoral underdevelopment, arthrogryposis, achondroplasia, juvenile femoral head desquamation and the extremely rare tibial hemimelia. Paley European Institute also helps people who suffer from growth dysphoria and neurological diseases. Treatment at our institute revolves around limb lengthening and reconstruction, thanks to which many young patients have been given the chance to develop normally. More than half a thousand children are operated on annually. They have a lifelong interdisciplinary treatment plan prepared, which includes the support of an orthopedist, surgeon, neurologist, orthotist, as well as a psychologist and rehabilitator.

Orthopedic Knowledge Transfer Program

Since 2018, the Paley European Institute in Warsaw has been running a knowledge transfer program that includes training Polish doctors, residents and students. The foundation of the program is regular visits by Dr. Paley, who shares innovative orthopedic knowledge of modern surgical techniques with our specialists. Thanks to these activities, currently 90% of the European Institute's patients in Warsaw are operated on by the Polish team, and the clinic has become a leading orthopedic center in Europe, receiving more than half a thousand patients a year.

Polish roots

Where did an internationally recognized orthopedist get the desire to establish an innovative medical facility right in Warsaw? The immediate impetus was the cooperation with Polish doctors, Dr. Jaroslaw Deszczynski and Dr. Tomasz Albrewczynski, who were doing a year and a half internship at the Florida facility. In addition, Dr. Paley is proud of his Polish roots and emphasizes that his father and all his grandparents were born in our country. All this makes the honorary Polish citizenship received from President Andrzej Duda not only a prestigious honor for Dr. Paley, but also a personal return to his roots.
