We present you the results of lengthening the femur. See for yourself - it is as much as 7 additional centimeters!

The boy first underwent a complex hip reconstruction (SUPERhip), and the next stage of treatment is femoral lengthening on an external apparatus.

Physiotherapeutic support

During the lengthening process, Vladislav actively participated daily in the implementation of an intensive physiotherapy plan. Specialists from our institute helped the boy adapt his muscles to the new length of the femur and conducted daily therapy with the patient to maintain joint ranges of motion.

After a few months, the femur was successfully lengthened by 7 cm!

Once the consolidation process was complete, doctors removed the external apparatus and implanted a special safety nail that protects the new bone regenerate from injury or possible fracture.

Ahead of Vladislav is another bone lengthening, but this time using an internal implant - the PRECICE nail. Together with the boy's mother, Mrs. Natalia, we are doing our best so that Vladislav can walk and play ball just like his peers.

What is SEMLS surgery, and who needs it?
