Do you know what fascia release with Baumann's method is all about?

Patients with neurological problems (for example, cerebral palsy (MPD) or post-traumatic patients may have a fixed contracture of the triceps calf muscle. This leads to horse foot alignment and causes many difficulties in daily functioning.

What is fascia release by Baumann's method?

In such cases, one of the surgical treatments at the Paley European Institute is fascial release using Baumann's method. It involves cutting its fascia without damaging the muscle and tendons themselves. This procedure, combined with intensive physiotherapy, makes it possible to achieve the desired length of the triceps calf muscle and restore normal function to the ankle joint and foot.

Other ways to release fascia

We also use plaster dressings and appropriate orthotic supplies to fix the correction in patients. In the video, we show the results after lengthening with Baumann's method and physiotherapy, which we obtained in one of our patients.

What is SEMLS surgery, and who needs it?
What is SEMLS surgery? Children with neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy (CP), often struggle with muscle tone disorders, contractures, and musculoskeletal deformities, which over time can affect their mobility and independence. In such cases, symptomatic treatment alone may not be sufficient—a comprehensive approach is necessary that takes into account both the functioning […]
