How to be taller or cosmetic limb lengthening - New Paley European Institute "Medical Talks" podcast with Joanna Sobolewska

We are excited to announce the launch of our original podcast and YouTube channel, Medical Talks, hosted by Joanna Sobolewska, known as Medical Mother - an ambassador of patient-centeredness and empathy in medicine.

🎙 Medical Talks is a space for candid conversations - with patients, their families and Paley European Institute specialists. It addresses topics that are often overlooked in everyday care: emotions, difficult decisions, the treatment process, hope and change.

Our conversations focus not only on medicine, but first and foremost on people and their stories. We talk about the treatment of rare diseases, surgical dilemmas, months of rehabilitation - from the perspective of the patient and his loved ones.

At the center of all stories is the family- because at the Paley European Institute we are guided by the principle of family-centered care, that is, patient-centered care for the patient and their loved ones. Patient-centeredness is not just an idea - it's a daily practice that lies at the heart of our mission.

🎧 Episode 1: Limb lengthening - is it worth it? On pain, transformation and the psyche of patients
In the premiere episode, Joanna Sobolewska talks with physiotherapist Katarzyna Horosz-Piotrowska of the Paley European Institute about surgical leg lengthening - both in an aesthetic and medical context.

This is a topic that stirs up emotions. Is it just an aesthetic procedure? How many centimeters can be gained? How much does it hurt? What is the rehabilitation like? Why are more and more adults opting for such a complicated operation? What does rehabilitation look like on a daily basis, and what changes in the patient's psyche after the process is complete?

💬 This is an episode about pain, strength and transformation. About how empathy and understanding are as important as centimeters.

The lack of oxygen and nutrients leads to damage to nerve cells, and in […]
