It is with great joy that we look back on the Achondroplasia Conference held in Stężyca; it was a truly special and deeply moving event for us. As the Paley European Institute, we had the pleasure of participating in it and meeting with patients, their families, and the entire wonderful community focused on the topic of achondroplasia.

Why Is This Important to Us?

Achondroplasia is one of the most common genetic causes of short stature, and people living with it often face challenges not only related to medical issues but also due to a lack of comprehensive information about available treatment options and support. Conferences like the one in Stężyca are an invaluable opportunity for us to connect with patients, exchange experiences with other specialists, and demonstrate that modern orthopedics goes hand in hand with genuine, compassionate support.

For us, participating in this event is a natural extension of our mission: to combine the highest standards of orthopedic surgery with meaningful psychological and social support for patients with limb shortening.

What was our participation like?

Our team was represented by: Katarzyna Horosz—a physical therapist—Dr. Michał Deszczyński, and Dr. Mateusz Maślanka.

Each speaker presented the topic of achondroplasia that they knew best, allowing conference participants to deepen their knowledge from various perspectives: surgical, physical therapy, and medical.

Our participation in the conference in Stężyca is also the result of our collaboration with odblokuj-zycie.pl; it was thanks to an invitation from this initiative that we were able to take part in this event and meet such a remarkable community of patients and their families.
