Dr. Matthew Dobbs will be at our Institute from October 12-14
Dr Dobbs developed the treatment for vertical talus. His technique to treat congenital vertical talus, a severe rigid flatfoot deformity present at birth, for example, has revolutionized the treatment of vertical talus and is now being utilized successfully across the world. He is also the leading wordwide expert in clubfoot. He developed a brace to maintain clubfoot correction. The brace, which bears his name, is utilized in over 50 countries and has helped thousands of clubfoot patients avoid relapse and the need for further intervention.
Dr. Dobbs has held leadership positions with the United States Bone and Joint Initiative as well as the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons and is the recipient of multiple NIH-funded research grants. He directed several multicentered clinical trials and co- directs a musculoskeletal genetics research laboratory. He was awarded prestigious research honors: Hunterian Gold Medal (2002), Nicolas Andry Award (2017), and the Kappa Delta Award (2017).
